My images explore the temporary existence of time and space from moment to moment and the vulnerability and fragility of the human landscape.

Beauty Carries Me is a new photographic series made during the pandemic.

Like many folks, I tend to turn to nature to remind my heart and mind of the beauty in life while co-existing with sorrow.

This is inspired by “mono no aware” a Japanese term which means “the pathos of things” and can be translated as “empathy towards things” or a “sensitivity to the ephemeral”.

Cherry blossoms represent a time of renewal and optimism.

We experience each moment in isolation, however, we collectively share the effects of the pandemic. Each moment holds significance. Each moment is temporary. These moments may be a reminder of our own state of being.

Everything is transient, brighter days will be here again and this too shall pass.
